Calibre custom columns

Three optional custom columns make CalibReader sort and filter exactly the way you want: date downloaded, read status, and page count.

Date downloaded

Gives you a column to sort by newest downloads, populated from each file's Windows creation date.

1. Install the GetFileName Calibre plugin.
2. Create a custom column in Preferences → Add your own columns:
   • Lookup name: date_downloaded
   • Column heading: date_downloaded
   • Column type: Date
   • Format for dates: yyyy-MM-dd
3. Install and configure the plugin with Include Folder checked:
   • File name: #filename
   • File Date: #date_downloaded

Read status

1. Create a custom column:
   • Lookup name: read_status
   • Column heading: Read Status
   • Column type: Yes/No
   • Show: Icon
2. Select one or more books, press E to bulk-edit metadata.
3. On the Custom metadata tab, mark them read or unread.

Page count

1. Install the Count Pages Calibre plugin.
2. For the most accurate counts, install the Goodreads plugin and give each book a Goodreads ID, e.g. in Edit metadata → Ids: goodreads:11646355.
3. Run Count Pages to populate the page-count column.
